Hear from the City of Perth’s Senior Arborist on how to identify PSHB, identify impacted trees and learn what the City is doing to manage the spread. This will be followed by a tour of Stirling Gardens and Supreme Court Gardens for a firsthand look at infestation and measures taken.

Community Planting Day at JH Abrahams Reserve
Celebrate Tree Month with the City of Perth, to highlight the importance of preserving and maintaining our Urban Canopy.
A Community Planting Day will be held on Saturday 4th May at JH Abrahams Reserve from 9:30 - 11:00 am. Register on the VisitPerth website.
Plants and trees will be installed around the playground area to increase canopy cover and enhance biodiversity. Bring a hat, sun protection and sturdy footwear. Refreshments will follow.
Rob John from our committee will be there to greet fellow residents.

The Urban Canopy has been a strong focus in our local area, with the City recognised internationally as 2023 Tree City of the World. The City of Perth’s Urban Forest Plan (2016-2036) is designed to promote the long-term benefits of tree canopy cover, and more than 7,000 trees have been planted since the launch of the plan.

The stunning Quadrangle at St George's College is the unique venue for opera star Paul O'Neill and pianist Mark Coughlan to present Opera in the Quad - an evening of the best loved moments from the magical world of opera.
Paul and Mark will be joined by three brilliant young singers — soprano Jessica Blunt, mezzo-soprano Ruth Burke, and baritone James Pinneri to create a special evening of musical treasures. Experience the passion and joy of opera in our beautiful garden setting.
Please note seating is provided for all ticket holders and is unreserved.
No picnic blankets or deck chairs are to be brought to the concert.

Mark your calendar now and be sure not to miss the popular Save The Children Summer Book Sale, on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 February 2024 at the Hackett Cafe at the University of Western Australia.
There are thousands of donated titles for sale at low prices to appeal to booklovers of all ages. There will be fiction in as-new condition, a huge range of children’s books, an extensive variety of non-fiction genres, and CDs, DVDs and jigsaws. The books have been sorted by our volunteers to ensure only the best quality books are presented.

Sunsets Sounds - Christmas Community Concert
Folks, come and enjoy the entertainment by the ever popular, These Galahs, a three-piece band performing stripped back acoustics and classic tunes. You’ll be up dancing from the first tune!

Held towards the northern end of Matilda Bay, there is heaps of parking available along Hackett Drive or catch the free Purple Cat Bus going straight past the venue. Excellent cycle paths also make cycling there a great option or simply just stroll to the riverside.
